To add to his glory, on 29th of December 2003, he was honoured with the prestigious ‘DADA SAHEB PHALKE AWARD’ for his outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema, by the President of India Mr. A P J ABDUL KALAM

The AWARD carries a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, a SHAWL and a SWARNA KAMAL (Golden Lotus).
