Dev Anand, a charmer at Eightythree
Evergreen actor Dev Anand is quite a charmer, even at 83. His latest gesture (in the email and mobile era) has touched the hearts of many. In a personal invitation (on his letter head), Dev Sahab has invited the fourth estate (over a cup of tea) for a press conference, regarding his autobiography. The invitations are in his own handwriting and signed by him personally.
For those who are unaware, Dev Anand’s 450 page autobiography, ‘Romancing with Life’, is being published by Penguin. It will be officially released by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the 26th September 2007, which interestingly coincides with the birthdays of both the PM and the evergreen hero.
Here’s wishing Dev Sahab many more birthdays and eternal youth!

I have been in USA since 1978. Your zest and vigour for life is very inspiring. Your passion for keep moving forward is very motivating. It has tremndously helped me.
I have been your avid fan since childhood,
seen most of your movies several times ,
I have enjoyed all of them as millions of fans have. GUIDE , TERE GHAR KE SAMNE, HUM DONO ,JOHNNY MERA NAAM and some of the other old movies are still my favorites.
You have given such a joy of great romantic Music with great songs, Why can’t you create the same magic in one more movie you produce?
I have enjoyed reading your autobiography. Finished in one sitting.
As being debonaire, ever young romantic image of yours stayed fresh in my imagination, never had a chance to see you in person.
I always had a dream of spending a day in a life of Dev Anand. I visited India after 17 years,2 years ago never got that chance to see you.
You have visited US several times but never in Houston, TX. We have more than 100,000 Indians living in Houston . Weather is close to Mumbai’s weather. I would love to arrange your stay if you ever visit Houston.
If you in MUBAI next year When I visit next time , I would love to visit withyou. I grew up in Mumbai, and was a student of MITHIBAi College, not too far from you residence. You have been an illusive figure to me now and then.
I want to visit with you ,spend a day if possible, ask you many questions that aren’t covered in your biography.Aslo will get publish in local Houston Circulation with your permission.
